(Kinda) Gross Gym Tour!

Image
Hey Mom! You know what people never get tired? People posting about their 'fitness journey' on the internet! But this is no ordinary fitness tale! This is an interactive (ish) photographic journey of my kinda gross gym!  *** 3x exclamation point multiplier!!! (also I'm sorry but I just got back from the gym so I am full of whatever hormone drives people to use such ebullient vocabulary)*** I did not want to go to the gym tonight. In fact, I even typed 'Is is dangerous to go to the gym while cold and tired?' into google. And you know what the google told me? The internet said that unless I have a bleeding disorder to go to the gym. So I put on my most hilarious tank top and galaxy headband and stalled for an hour and then went to the (kinda) gross gym.  Firstly, I stepped in this puddle, it's not relevant to this post but I wanted you to know. A couple weeks ago my roommate pointed out to me that this spit has been there since we started going to ...

Your Backstory.

Image
Hey Mom! So you may have guessed by the title of this blog, I am going to launch into an inspirational narrative about how your past does define you and your future is so so bright and wonderful... You would be wrong, that would be a terrible guess. I don't understand why you can't just walk up to someone and say "So what's the backstory here? I'm not trying to be mean but I really want to know why you've decided to do what you're doing." Is it important to my life? No. Is it any of my business whatsoever? Absolutely not. For example, a few weeks ago my roommate and I started frequenting the gym after work. About halfway through our workout two guys come in and one of them works out while the other one sits on his phone at the front desk. To be clear, I have no problem with these guys, it's not like the guy who isn't working out is walking around being creepy and mouth-breathing all over the equipment. He's minding his own business w...

An Honest Resume

Hey Mom, So my job searching while fruitless has given me the chance to really think about a resume.  It's the best parts of us.  It's our skills and experiences that equip us for whatever work we are looking for.  Then I thought what if resumes were completely honest about everything?  What if our resumes showed a more well rounded picture of our lives?  Hang on to your hats kids because I have done just that. Cover Letter: To Whom It May Concern: My name is Mack and I'm looking for a summer job that pays pretty well and hopefully is casual.  It's not that I don't have business attire it's just that when I get dressed in the morning I really worry about betraying my gender in the workplace (Should I wear pants that fit because I am a fierce independent woman that is not ashamed of my atypical body type or should I wear a men's suit because I don't ascribe to gender stereotypes?), so if everyone just wears jeans and a t-shirt it makes my life muc...

WHY DO YOU PEE ON EVERYTHING?

Hey Mom! Well first of all, I need to say a huge thank you for all the support and kind words I received after my l eaving the game  post went up.  As far as updates are concerned, I sort of feel like I'm in the middle of an awkward break-up.  Sometimes I am really excited for what's next and sometimes I sit on the couch in sweatpants and cry because I thought what we had was special and that we were going to be together forever <--- imagine a whiny voice with a few broken sobs.  Also for comedic purposes you could also imagine some heavy mascara running down my face and a five gallon bucket of ice cream, this is obviously not the reality because it's allergy season so I don't eat dairy or wear makeup. And in very slightly related news I got a job working at gym.  Which brings me to my next point... STOP PEEING ON EVERYTHING!  I don't know what is in their pre workout but I swear I find pee everywhere except in the toilet.  It's like working at...
